In my opinion, it is better for young people to take risks and explore new things becasue experience is neccessary for them. To be more specific, young people have experienced less than old people, they have no idea what they should do is the best choice for most cases. To grow up until being able to confront troubles individually, they need to try different things and learn from their mistakes or success. Take an young researcher as an example, who is less experienced and have no idea which research area is suit for him or her. The only way to find out is to try different fields and find out what he or she is interested in. In the contrast, the old people usually have already found their own interest and have no need to try new things.
